SHORT-TERM EXCHANGES OF GROUPS OF PUPILS

ISTANBUL, TURKEY - 25.02 – 01.03.2019

The exchange of students held under the topic “Mother Nature”- Solidarity for Environment 

1st day

Headmaster of  Atasehir Emlak Konut Secondary School, Mr. Tuncay Karakaş, deputy headmaster (Esra Türkmen), project’s responsible (Gülder Fatma Engin) welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the event.

Pupils were allocated to classes: 5 A /5 B/ 5 C /6 B/ 6 E / 6C / 7A/ 7M/ 7 I

They attended classes every morning and had lunch at school.

Evening activities:

1st day

Presentations session of national Educational Systems/ Participants exchanged traditional gifts.

2nd day

Students participated at a meeting with Municipality representative Mrs. Ayten Kartal. She made her speech about environment, zero waste projects and recycling. The event was broadcasted live via Emlak Konut Secondary School Facebook page.

A National TV channel “Habertürk” made interviews with the students and teachers and then reported as news on TV.

3rd day

The working teams had an evaluation session of the meeting: the stage of realization of the final products of the project - E-shops "Environmental Solidarity", poster, flyer, calendar, brochure and ways of disseminating activities through Website, Blog, Facebook and eTwinning.

4th day

It was completed the intentional exhibition made by the students, with the presentation of the project activities carried out so far.

Evaluation questionnaires were applied to the students and teachers involved.

Mrs. Gülder Engin, handed out the Attendance Certificates.

Evaluation of LTTA

Questionnaires were applied, discussions and interviews were held with local community representatives who came to school, parents, school administration staff, NGO.

Pupils had notebooks for their impressions.

Advertising/ Dissemination

The LTTA advertised in school through activities carried out for 4 days in classes, in the gym, in the laboratories, at the school canteen, in the festivity hall where the ceremony for opening the mobility took place, attended by parents, members local authorities (District Director of National Education Mr. Ertuğrul Bilican and Municipality representative Mrs. Ayten Kartal), NGO “ÇEVKO - Protection of Environment and  Recycling” members (Mrs. Zeliha Sunal) and members of the press.
